Residential Services
The staff at The Keys of Carolina attempts to teach appropriate social behavior and coping skills to each client through the use of appropriate role-modeling, role-playing, redirections, and daily practicing. Groups are conducted by Masters level clinicians, as well as, MHT staff that will work on daily independent living skills such as, increased self-esteem, hygiene, cooperation, anger management, financing, and social skills, to name a few.
The behavior management program at The Keys of Carolina works with the client to build upon their strengths and encourages pro-social behaviors. The program also incorporates appropriate safety precautions for residents whom threaten the safety of the therapeutic community. The staff at The Keys of Carolina is specifically trained in working with adolescents with mental health issues to help them to progress throughout their treatment. Staff is trained to try and focus upon the client's strengths and potential, rather than the maladaptive behaviors in which they present. Physical restraint and other special treatment interventions are utilized only after less intrusive methods fail to protect the residents.
